About INCO Group

Seven decades of engineering, in one continuous practice.

Founded as a design consultancy in 1952, INCO is today one of the leading EPC contractors in industrial construction — operating from Dubai's Jebel Ali Free Zone, with fabrication workshops in the UAE, Oman and Iraq, and projects across 26 countries.

Who we are

Industrial discipline, contemporary form.

INCO Group delivers Engineering, Procurement and Construction for the principals who set the standard — Técnicas Reunidas, Samsung C&T, Tecnimont, Hitachi Zosen Inova, Chiyoda, Saipem. Six sectors, one operating model, 4,000+ people.

Engineering discipline

Every drawing reviewed twice. Every weld inspected. Every commissioning walkdown documented. The discipline of doing the same hard thing right, 235+ times.

4,000+ in-house

Engineers, fabricators, project managers, riggers, 6G-qualified welders, QC inspectors. We don't subcontract the parts that matter.

HSE first, always

We focus on preventing harm before work begins. Our objective is to anticipate risks, strengthen controls and prevent incidents rather than simply respond to them.

History

From Istanbul, 1952 — to 26 countries today.

The arc of seven decades, marked by the projects and decisions that shaped the group.

1952

Founded in Istanbul

Affan Balaban, a structural engineer trained in Germany, founds INCO Engineering and Civil Contracting as a design and engineering consultancy.

1977

From consultancy to contractor

Abdo Karadag, a civil engineer, joins the firm and turns it toward general contracting in industrial construction — the business INCO has been in ever since.

1980s

Iraq

Around 55 projects completed in Iraq through to 1990, with Ballestra and Mazzoni of Italy as the principal clients — the decade that established INCO as an industrial contractor.

1994

Oman, and the first workshop

INCO is established in the Sultanate of Oman, its first step into the Gulf, and opens its first fabrication shop at Sohar Industrial Estate, beside Sohar Industrial Port.

1994–2000

Oman's process plants

A run of plants built across Oman through to 2000: Al Ahlia detergents, Al Intaj sulphochemicals, Oman Chemicals, Keemya Oman and Dhofar Vegetable Oils.

2003

Dubai headquarters and accreditation

Head office established in the Jebel Ali Free Zone alongside a fabrication shop, and the EMALAB linear alkyl benzene plant delivered there. The same year brings ISO 9001 certification and ASME accreditation for pressure-vessel fabrication.

2007

Second Sohar workshop

A second workshop opens at Sohar Industrial Estate to meet rising demand in the region, built for heavy equipment fabrication, especially HRSG and modules.

2014

Back to Iraq

A fabrication shop opens at Al Zubair Free Zone for piping, steel structure and tank work, in the country where INCO made its name in the 1980s.

2026

74 years

More than seven decades of process-plant, tank, and energy-infrastructure delivery. Today's portfolio: 235+ projects, 26 countries, 250+ clients, 4,000+ team members.

What we do

Engineering, procurement, construction and fabrication.

Four disciplines, delivered across the group rather than tied to one office.

Engineering

Process, mechanical, civil and structural engineering for process plants, tank farms and energy infrastructure, under one group standard.

Procurement

Sourcing, expediting and inspection of equipment and bulk materials for every project, wherever it is built.

Construction

Erection, mechanical completion and commissioning on site, with our own crews.

Fabrication

Tanks to API 650/620, pressure vessels, pipe spools, structural steel and heavy modules, in our own workshops.

Workshops: Jebel Ali, UAE · Sohar and Duqm, Oman · Al Zubair, Iraq
